WHAT IS Drone cage?
Drone cage, is a drone specific protective frame invented, designed and manufactured in the Wyre Forest, United Kingdom, by a Team of friends with a passion for providing cutting-edge technology, at the forefront of an emerging technical sector. We are the sole supplier of this type of device to the commercial UAV industry, worldwide.
Drone Cage makes operating drones indoors, in difficult to access places and confined spaces simple. It is the most cost effective, full 360 degree collision tolerant cage solution available for professional UAV applications on the market today.

Drone Cage allows every drone pilot to operate safely in the knowledge that their drone is protected. It opens up new grounds for the operation and application of drones, allowing the pilot to concentrate more on the task at hand and achieving the desired results, and less time worrying about damaging expensive assets both aerial and environmental.
What are the advantages Drone Cage has over other solutions?
Cost. With even the most expensive version of the Mavic 2, combined with our fully accessorised Drone Cage, is still over 10 times cheaper and more cost effective than purpose built aircraft, with permanently fixed cages.
Flight time. A Mavic 2 equipped with our Drone Cage system has twice the flight time capability of other purpose built caged aircraft. Not only that, our unique system is payload compatible, allowing the use of a wide range of data requisition systems.
Collision tolerance. Drone Cage has been built with protection as the priority. Our system boasts aerospace grade carbon fibre. Drone Cage is capable of taking 6kg of force from the top, and 12kg from the front, rear and sides. No other cage system has these credentials.
Positioning. Drone Cage allows full use of the DJI video stereo positioning system. This system is one of, if not the best positioning system, currently available, so Drone Cage takes full advantage of this, and is fully compatible.
Multiple roles. As an inspection company, you may already own one or several DJI Aircraft. Drone Cage further extends the already superior capabilities of existing equipment, without the need to buy expensive single function aircraft. A confined space inspection can be carried out early one morning, immediately followed by the same aircraft being used for external photogrammetry. Purpose built aircraft are unable to fulfil this role.
HOW DOES DRONE CAGE protecT MY DJI DRONE?
The full 360° frame surrounding the drone enables safer collisions with objects in the way whilst carrying out indoor inspections in confined spaces or hard to reach areas. Our Drone Cage air frame is made from ultra lightweight aerospace grade carbon fibre that gives Drone Cage ultimate strength and flexibility with little impact on flight characteristics. This, coupled with state of the art 3D printed components, allows the drone to achieve it's maximum potential even in hostile or uncontrolled environments.
IS THIS A Cost effective solution?
Drone Cage is the most cost-effective solution on the market to date. We concentrate on the protective cage around the drone, not the drone itself. DJI drones are one of the market leading brands, and account for 70% of the total number for commercial drone operations in the USA and Canada alone. Taking this in to account, the only thing missing was to make the drones more rugged, so Drone Cage was born.
Equipped onto the DJI Mavic series, Drone Cage gives you the ability to capture gimbal stabilised, high-resolution images, and high definition video at the touch of a button. Together, Drone Cage and the DJI Mavic series offer the safest and most convenient way to carry out inspections indoors, in confined spaces or hard to reach areas.
How quickly can i receive my cage?
All our cages are hand built to order in the UK. We aim to ship all orders within two weeks from date of purchase.
Of course we will keep you posted on production and shipping along the way.
For orders of 10 units +, we will contact you to advise delivery expectation, although we aim to facilitate these also within a 2 week window.
What warranty do i RECEIVE for my cage?
Your Drone Cage carries a 3 month warranty. This covers any issues relating to the assembly and manufacture of the product.
Due to the intended use of the product, your warranty does not extend to fracture and other damages caused by impact. The warranty will only extend as far as the manufacturing process. We do carry all components in our workshops to perform repairs to your Drone Cage in the event of accident damage (Please contact us for a quotation for accident repair).
What legislation applies to the drone cage?
The Drone Cage is designed to be an add on/accessory to your drone device.
You should always review local legislation in your operating geographical area to ensure all compliance is met.
It is the UAV pilots responsibility at all times to ensure that they and their apparatus meet all local requirements and are operating in a safe and legal manner.
What testing has been performed on this device?
The Drone Cage was originally designed for aerial close proximity surveillance. As such, pre-production and production versions have undergone numerous test flights in close proximity scenarios to ensure suitability for their purpose.
Product suitability
The Drone Cage is designed to provide protection to your drone device whilst performing low speed manoeuvres in tight, confined, hazardous and difficult to reach internal spaces. It is not recommended to use the Drone Cage outside, other than to traverse to and from entry/exit points.
The Drone Cage is not suitable for high speed device protection such as drone racing or sudden descent.
I require asset tracking for my device.
Please contact us during your order process. We can apply a serial number/invoice number onto the air frame for asset purposes.
We would like to undertake periodic checks of our cages.
In certain business areas, it is a necessity to undertake periodic checks of your products frame and joints.
Please contact us to discuss maintenance and monitoring packages. For this service, you will require our Asset tracking service in order to correctly log and monitor.
Whats the returns policy?
All of our cages are shipped with full insurance cover. In the event of damage caused during delivery, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt of goods.
In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your product, you can return your unopened Drone Cage to us within 14 days of receipt of goods for a full refund (minus shipping costs, any related import duties and restocking fees). The items must remain sealed, and still in it’s original packaging.
In the event of product failure due to defect, please contact us with clear images of the defect. We will then arrange to correct or replace where applicable. Please read point above on Warranty (3 month warranty covering manufacture defects only).
